The day has arrived. After two years in South East Asia we have finally left and are on our way to Fiji. We will miss Singapore Our last day has been a little nerve racking, as we live in fear of not being able to bring all our luggage with us. As I explained in my earlier post we always are fighting the weight limit, and trying not to pay the exorbitant prices the airlines charge for excess luggage. For our journey to OZ we are flying on Tiger Air, out of the budget terminal, and we cann...
So, you off to Fiji for a year or so, to work as a diver and underwater videographer/photographer….and your weight limit is 28KG. This the is story of what's involved in baggage weight loss. You as simple as you might think…. The biggest problem Barb and I have is always getting to your new destination for work. We usually have a fair amount of stuff to lug around. As well and all your clothes, personal effects, toiletries, medical stuff, books etc we also have to bring our dive gear which ...
So where in Fiji are we going? Here’s a map I think that where the pins is will be where we are based and the cruises head off to the south east islands…
A lot has been said recently about ‘The Best Job in the World’, a job offer to live on Hamilton Island in Australia and get paid a large amount of money. Well, that’s not too bad, but there is rather a lot of competition for it. This blog is about an alternative Best Job,, the one I just got. I’ve been a professional Scuba Dive Instructor for the last ten years. I’ve been lucky enough to work in some amazing places:- four years in Roatan, Honduras – Four years in The Commonwealth of Dominic...
I've been intimately using computers since the mid-80s and the internet for the last 8 years or so. After leaving the IT world in the late 90s I've been fortunate to live intimately with nature as a Scuba Diving Instructor for the last 10 years. I've lived on some beautiful islands in Central America (Roatan), the Eastern Caribbean (The Commonwealth of Dominica) and now I'm in the South China Sea (Tioman). Even here, in Tioman (a very small island 50km off the east coast of Malaysia) I'm luck...
I'm using the latest Dreamscapes build 1.95.[b].028, Vista Enterprise SP1, 2GB RAM, 2.16 Core 2 Duo, ATI1400 card (3.6 score). When I use the latest dreams, Copper Pool, Exotic Plasma and Grassy Field, my Explorer.exe memory use goes up from a normal 50Mb to over 100MB and the explorer.exe CPU usages gets higher too (higher than the dwm.exe CPU usage). Desktop Earth and Water Dream are better, only increasing the explorer.exe to between 64Mb and 75MB. This happens both with WindowBlinds...
Imagine yourself at the center of a virtual loop where all the windows you use are spread out around you. Whichever window you need to view can be centered in front of you with a click of a button. Take this idea and zoom into your pc environment. With Deskloops, all the windows you have open are aligned side by side in a loop-like order. No more countless windows arranged one on top of the other in a confusing manner. You can access all the information you need and navigate through it e...

There's a new version of VideoLAN's VLC player. VLC is a free cross-platform media player. * It supports a large number of multimedia formats, without the need for additional codecs * It is available for almost every OS * It needs little CPU power i've been using this for ages, and it plays everything, you can skin it, and it's FREE!!! Link it's fantastic if, like me, you have a laptop and travel alot, as it ignores the DVD region code, which means i don't get p...
